Where can you travel with Interrail
- Can I travel with Interrail in my own country?
If you have an Interrail Global Pass, you can travel on one travel day to leave your country of residence (outbound) and on one travel day to return (inbound). You can use these journeys in your country on travel days at any point in your Pass’ validity. Read more about travel in your own country.
Interrail One Country Passes are only valid for the trains in the country indicated on the Pass. You cannot purchase an Interrail One Country Pass for your own country of residence.
Please note that the Interrail Benelux Pass is valid in 3 countries. So if you're a Dutch resident, you can use this pass for travel in Belgium and Luxembourg.
- Where is my One Country Pass valid?
An Interrail One Country Pass is only valid within the one country indicated on the Pass. You cannot use an Interrail One Country Pass to travel from another country to the country indicated on your Pass.
Example: A resident of the Netherlands picks an Interrail Spain Pass for their 3 week-long holiday in Spain. The Pass is valid for travel only in Spain, and cannot be used to travel from the Netherlands to Spain. Likewise, a resident of Spain cannot use an Interrail France Pass to travel in Spain as it is only valid in France.
- Can you purchase an Interrail One Country Pass for your country of residence?
No. You can only purchase a One Country Pass for a country other than your own country of residence.
Example: A resident of Italy cannot purchase an Interrail Italy Pass.
